idiom, phrasal verb, and proverb

oke know, let's study about idiom. i have some examples of idiom, phrasal verb than proverb. take a look and find the differenciation about them. 1. All at once : sekaligus e.g : he finished his work all at once yesterday. 2. As if : seolah-olah e.g: the baby laughed as if he understood what the mother said. 3. At hand : sudah dekat e.g: the rainy season is at hand. 4. As you please : sesuka hatimu e.g: here is the menu, you may choose as you please. 5. By chance : secara kebetulan ( tanpa rencana ) e.g : yesterday I et him at the air port by chance. 6. Go with : serasi e.g : your new shirt doesn’t go withthat red tie. 7. Have the right to : berhak e.g: We have right to reject their proposal. 8. In charge : bertugas e.g: John is in charge, so he can’t join for lunch. 9. on condition that : dengan syarat e.g: i will end you the money on condition thar you must pay it back next month. 10. out of date : ketinggalan zaman e.g: she always wears out of date styles of clothing. PHRASAL VERB 1. Iron out : eliminate e.g: we need to have meeting this order to iron out the distribution problems. 2. yammer on : to talk in annoying way/ complain e.g: they yammered on and on and on 3. nod off : fal asleep e.g : the movie was so bpring that i nodded off before it was finished. 4. bear up : withstand e.g: i didn’t think he wold bear up so well in that situation. 5. blow up : explode e.g: the bomb blew up before they could defuse it. 6. break down : become mentality ill e.g: she broke down after her husband died. 7. break in : interrupt e.g: while we were discusing the situation, terry broke in to gve her opinion. 8. burn up : be hot e.g: iam burning up in here-open the window. 9. dress down dress cassualy e.g: iam dressing down because we’re going to a barbecue by the beach. 10. dro out : quit on organized activity e.g: yuri is not on the team any more, he drop out. PROVERB 1. A cat may look at a king : a change is a good as rest. 2. A golden key can open any door : a good begining makes a good ending. 3. A rooling stone gathers no moss : a soft answer truneth away warth. 4. A woman’s place is in the home : a woman’s work is never done. 5. All good things come to who waits : ala good things must come to an end. 6. All things must pass : all you need is love. 7. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth : another day, another dollar. 8. Better late than never 9. Brevity is the soul of wit : business before pleasure. 10. Every man has his price : every picture tells a story.
